She's a rich and famous Hollywood star who is likely to have closets full of designer children's clothes worn by her first child, Honor. But that didn't stop Jessica Alba's generous friends going overboard with presents for her baby shower today. The lucky actress left her party, held at a friend's home in West Hollywood, with her car full to the brim with gifts.
Jessica was grinning as she walked back to her car, and later thanked her friends over Twitter. The 30-year-old wrote: 'A million THANK U's 2 @KellySawyer @jacqui_lang n @lauren_andersen 4 such an amazing baby shower. It was perfect in every way. Luv u.'The Spy Kids star, expecting her second child in September, looked cute in a sheer polka dot shirt dress, over black leggings.
Despite her expanding bump, she hasn't given up on heels, and added towering cork platforms to the outfit. Guests were seen arriving earlier in the day with enormous colourfully wrapped presents. Hopefully there will be plenty of items on Jessica's list now checked off, as she recently admitted to Us Weekly that she is 'really taking her time' getting prepared and that the baby's nursery is 'not even close' to being ready.
Miss Alba recently discussed accepting that her famous figure will never get back to it's pre-pregnancy shape. 'I can’t ever get down to the weight I was before I had Honor,' she told Allure magazine. 'My body’s just different. The jeans just sort of zip up differently, and things hang differently. It’s a miracle what happens, but you definitely are different afterward.''Unless you’re Gisele,' she added.
But, the actress says, it's all worth it for the experience of motherhood. 'I saw how incredible and amazing it is to be a woman and to be able to create a life,' said of of welcoming Honor, now three. 'There’s a reason why certain areas of the body are desirable - because it all leads to reproduction. 'There’s a science behind it all. It’s not just to sell whatever you’re selling on a billboard or a magazine or a movie.'
