Jessica Alba to Topline 'An Invisible Sign of My Own'

September 8, 2008 |12:18 | Gossips  By : Team X

Hollywood beauty Jessica Alba has reportedly been set to star in "An Invisible Sign of My Own". As Silverwood Films and iDeal Partners Film Fund signed up a financing deal for the project over the weekend at the Toronto Film Festival, words are coming out that the 27-year-old is most likely to join the film's cast ensemble as the leading lady.

According to Film-Releases, she has been picked up to take the role previously attached to America Ferrera. If the story were true, it means that Alba will be portraying 20-year-old loner, Mona Gray, who as a child, hides herself behind numbers and math. But, when she grows up and becomes a second-grade math teacher, she is forced to step out from her secluded world.

Based on Aimee Bender's novel, "Invisible" will be directed by Marilyn Agrelo from the script written by "The Wedding Planner" scribes Pamela Falk and Michael Ellis. Produced by Jana Edelbaum, Falk, Ellis and Lynette Howell, the flick is expected to start the shooting in October.

September 6, 2008 |11:50 | Gossips  By : Team X

Out and about taking care of her daily errands, Jessica Alba was spotted paying a visit to a friend’s house in Los Angeles on Thursday (September 4).

In fine form following the birth of her daughter, the “Sin City” starlet looked cute in a lacy white scoopneck top underneath a black cardigan sweater with baggy white trousers and white flip flops. In related news, Alba, 27, recently took to her blog talking politics - as she recently attended the Democratic National Convention.

I wanted to check in to tell you about a trip I took recently to Denver for the Democratic National Convention. In two words: eye-opening. You see, traditionally I haven’t been that politically active but for a variety of reasons I find myself being compelled to participate in this years election.

September 5, 2008 |11:24 | Gossips  By : Team X

Denver, natch, was the place to be last week if you were looking for our fave kind of Star Spangled Banner. Seriously, the Democratic National Convention was like shopping on Roberston Boulevard on a Saturday. Obama pulled A-listers like Susan Sarandon, Kanye West, Matthew McConaughey, Justin Timberlake and Oprah Winfrey just to name a few.

Let's just hope these starry salutes don't backfire on the historic candidate, but what with Jed and Elly May Clampett running against him, don't think that's too much of a prob.

Jessica Alba and Fergie: Democratic Divas

September 1, 2008 |12:46 | Gossips  By : Team X

From all accounts, the final night of the Democratic National Convention felt more like a concert than a stuffy political event.  And with gals like Jessica Alba and Fergie in the crowd, it’s easy to see why.

The “Good Luck Chuck” mommy and the “Big Girls Don’t Cry” songstress looked to be enjoying themselves on the historical evening that included the first African American man nominated to Presidential Candidacy.

Several times throughout the evening, both Jess and Fergie got excited about their choice for America’s next President, cheering loudly and waving their arms in support. Then again, it’s easy to see why they love Obama.  With statements like, “That’s the promise of America - the fundamental belief that I am my brother’s keeper, I am my sister’s keeper,” he’s a definite crowd pleaser.

Oprah, Alba! Obama goldmine or downfall?

August 29, 2008 |11:46 | Gossips  By : Team X

Hollywood didn't contribute official speakers to Barack Obama's convention. But, man, did celebrities flock to Denver in droves. Is Oprah in the house? That was Matthew Modine! Oh, wow, there's Anne Hathaway.

All that this week, along with Thursday's final-night lineup featuring A-list performers like Sheryl Crow and Stevie Wonder and Obama's splashy acceptance speech in a packed-to-the-gills football stadium, will be scooped up greedily by Republican John McCain, as grist for his refrain-of-the-moment: that his Democratic opponent is all flash and no pan.

Camp McCain has already gotten impressive mileage out of mocking the Democrats' Invesco Field set, a stage before ivory columns on the 50-yard line. ``The Temple of Obama,'' they call it.

They kept that drumbeat going so long that Democrats dug up a photo of George Bush accepting the 2004 GOP nomination in front of similar Greek columns. That shut up Republicans, but only temporarily.

Jessica Alba and Cash Warren took Honor out to lunch with friends in Beverly Hills on Saturday. Jessica opted for a striped cardigan and comfy baggy pants instead of showing off her amazing post-baby body that we now know how she whipped back into shape.

Honor got a special smile from her mom during the walk, but pretty soon those famous lips will be forced shut when Jessica appears in a new ad campaign for Declare Yourself, urging young people to vote.
